Award / International Recognition / Volunteer Service / Fatty Liver

Alhamdulillah.
It is with great joy and gratitude that I share that I have been honored by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) HANDS Honors Program.
To me, this recognition is not merely an award. It is international recognition of my commitment to voluntary healthcare service, disease prevention, medical education and community empowerment.
About the ASGE HANDS Honors Program
The ASGE HANDS Honors Program recognizes verified charitable and humanitarian service in digestive and hepatic healthcare by ASGE members.
Where This Initiative Began
In Bangladesh, Fatty Liver Disease / MASLD is rising rapidly. Yet many people still do not know that—with timely lifestyle modification, metabolic risk management and regular follow-up—the progression of this disease can largely be prevented.
With this goal, I started a completely voluntary and free Fatty Liver Disease Education & Prevention Program at Islami Bank Central Hospital, Kakrail.
Healthcare Professional Education
As part of this initiative, physicians, nurses and health workers received training through a special educational seminar on the prevention, early recognition, lifestyle modification and evidence-based management of fatty liver disease.
My belief—treating one patient is important, but properly training one healthcare professional can benefit countless more patients through them.
Patient Education
Rather than limiting this initiative to a single-day seminar, a Fatty Liver Handbook has been prepared for patients, to be distributed free of charge.
Through it, patients will gain a simple and practical understanding of fatty liver, dietary habits, physical activity, metabolic risk factors and long-term follow-up.
Fatty Liver Clinic
An important part of this initiative is a dedicated Fatty Liver Clinic, established to provide patients with structured assessment, lifestyle counseling, education and long-term follow-up.
My goal is to build a sustainable model of fatty liver care—one that can be followed by other healthcare institutions in Bangladesh in the future.
Why This Recognition Is Special to Me
I believe a physician's role is not limited to diagnosis and treatment.
Prevention. Education. Empowerment. Service.
Standing on these four pillars, we can build a healthier society.
This honor will inspire me to bring more people under health education and awareness, and to keep working for the development of digestive & liver health in Bangladesh, Inshallah.
Sincere gratitude to all who stood beside me on this journey—the authorities of Islami Bank Central Hospital, my fellow physicians, nurses and health workers, Everest Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and all well-wishers.
Special gratitude to ASGE for internationally recognizing this important initiative of voluntary and humanitarian healthcare work for people.
May this journey of care and health education continue from Bangladesh to the world stage.
Alhamdulillah for the recognition. Grateful for the opportunity to serve. Committed to doing more.
